Former Rivatex skipper endorses Mwendwa for FKF second term
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Coaches instructor and former Rivatex FC long serving captain Patrick Mutahi has endorsed current FKF President Nick Mwendwa's tenure for the next four years.
Mutahi, who is also a teacher at Kapsabet High School said that the current FKF president Nick Mwendwa has displayed good governance skills which have in turn raised the standards of football in the country over the last four years,
“Nick Mwendwa definitely has my support as he vies for a second term for the presidential seat in the Federation because he has exhibited good governance and improved our game, “ Mutahi said.
Mutahi recalled that previously the junior national under 15 team was unheard of but the current regime actualized this dream after developing the National Centre of Excellence that helps nurture the young players who will then be pooled to the National Senior team, Harambee Stars.
The current administration also re-introduced the FKF Women premier League and Division One Leagues in 2016 that gave life to women football national team Harambee Starlets, which had in the past not been given priority.
Starlets went on to make their debut in the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations and closing the year 2019 as champions after winning the CECAFA Women Championships in Tanzania for the first time ever.
