Makadara MP Aladwa denies plan to join Kenya Kwanza

Makadara Member of Parliament the former Nairobi mayor and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Nairobi county chairman George Aladwa has dispelled romours that he is planning to decamp from the Raila Odinga led Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition to join the ruling Kenya Kwanza.

This follows reports that the legislator is angling to vie for the Vihiga gubernatorial seat in 2027 under Kenya Kwanza.

In a press statement released to media houses, Aladwa has denied the said allegation saying he is in ODM to stay and has no plans to ditch the Orange party in the near future.

Aladwa denied plans to ditch ODM placing blame on his former personal assistant for the circulation of the information which he termed 'misleading'.

The city politician said that the former aide, Kenn Okaka, who is a former head of communication at Football Kenya Federation was responsible for spreading the rumour noting that he has and will continue to bear allegiance to his ODM party; this, even as he did not deny news that he is planning to vie in Vihiga as Governor nor the alleged meetings that he is said to have held with ANC leader and Kenya Kwanza luminary Hon Musalia Mudavadi.

He also did not deny the allegations from a section of Nairobi MCA's that he has been undermining the position of his party in regards to the Nairobi county assembly politics

Aladwa is said to be against Azimio candidate for the position of Speaker and majority leader . A section of Nairobi Azimio MCA's have told him off asking him to resign from the position of MP and vie for the Speaker's position if he wants it.

"I want to state categorically that lies and propaganda have short legs. Kindly ignore rumours going round that am on my way to Kenya Kwanza side," Aladwa said in his statement.

"I am a life member of the ODM party so, let's not be discouraged. We pray for the enemies of progress, that they may hold on to see the great plans God has for us come 2027," he continued.

"This is to dispel rumours being peddled by well known individuals, agents of doom, political brokers and busy bodies.   I am part and parcel of Azimio and ODM is my Party. I have no intention or any reason whatsoever of ditching it now or in the near future," stated.

Aladwa has in the recent past held meetings with Mudavadi in a move that is seen as strategy to lay his ground work for a gubernatorial bid in Mudavadi's Vihiga home county to replace incumbent Wilber Otichilo who is serving his second and final term as governor come 2027.
