Ken Oliech names his foot soldiers
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Presidential candidate Ken Oliech has now named his new commanders who will help to steer up his campaign
Oliech has stretched his hand to former players led by former International Keeper Mathew Otamax to steer his ship to the promised land. He has vowed to take the bull by its horns by trying to unseat FKF President Sam Nyamweya.
Other players drafted in the ‘Team Oliech” committee include Titus Mulama,Wycliffe Jumba,Andrew ‘Apache”Oyombe,Philip Ouma,George ‘Jojo”Waweru,Edward ‘Adesh”Karanja,and Ezekiel “Sachi” Akwana. Also named in the team include Nixon Chiggi”Oliech,Martin Nyamori, Paul Mungai, and Habil Otieno among others.
Oliech promised to bring back sponsors like integrated communication provider Safaricom ,Unicef and other abandoned tournaments like Sakata Ball,Orange Mabingwa and youth tournaments.
He said there was need to bring back former players who have shied away from the local football to spearhead and revive the ailing sports that has been poorly mismanaged by football administrators from both FKF and Kenya Premier League(KPL).
‘We have a lot of talent in every corner but the sport has been mismanaged by both FKF and KPL officials . We may blame FKF but KPL are not better either way.It’s sad to see how players are going months without salary and yet the chairman of these clubs are the same officials who sit in the KPL management Board.Surely are they protecting players or promoting football if they can’t address players welfare ?”he wondered.
Ken who runs the Oliech sports foundation pleaded with football delegate to vote wisely and avoid bringing in recycled leaders who have spoil the game to the extent of chasing away potential sponsors like Safaricom. “I believe with the help of former and current active players ,stakeholders,sponsor’s,
